Digits Runner-up at Oakland Tourney

Logan View Digits went 2-1 over the weekend to claim runner-up at the Oakland tourney. On a chilly, windy Friday night, the Digits posted a 6-0 victory over O-C Orange. Levi Fitzke, Weston Rasmussen, Boyd Clausen and Bryce Fitzke scored runs in the 1st inning to get the team off to a fast start. In the 3rd inning, Luke Munderloh and Raymond Beckstrom circled the bases to complete the scoring. Pitching and defense dominated the game as Rasmussen and Clausen pitched the shutout.

LV played Kingsley-Pierson, IA on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 10-6 win. LV jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning on base hits by Rasmussen, Beckstrom and B. Fitzke. Kingsley took a 6-2 lead after two innings, but the Digits scored 4 runs in the 3rd and 4th innings to get the win. B. Fitzke finished with 3 hits, while L. Fitzke and Rasmussen had 2 hits. Tristan Baltzer had one hit with an RBI and Owen Yang scored a run.

In the Sunday matchup, the Digits faced a tough Blair team and came out on the short end of a 2-0 game. LV loaded the bases in the 1st inning, but couldn’t push across a run. B. Fitzke had the only hit of the day. B. Fitzke and Clausen shared the pitching duties in the game.

The Ponies continued their busy weekend with a Sunday evening game at Stanton. LV came away with a 6-2 win. The Ponies held a slim 3-2 lead after 4 innings, but put the game away with 3 runs in the 6th inning. Colton Stockamp picked up the win on the mound, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs with 4 strikeouts. Graidon Drey was the hitting leader, getting 3 hits, including two doubles. Jacob Peters, Stockamp (2 RBI) and Reece Pekarek also had base hits in the contest. Cooper Camenzind added a sacrifice fly in the @nd inning.
