Digits End Season in League Tourney
The Logan View Digits teams played in the league tourney last week. The Digit Gold team started the tourney as the #3 seed in the Gold Bracket with a 10-1 record. Digit Gold won their first round game by a 6-1 score over North Bend White. The Digits trailed in the 3rd inning before plating four runs and they never trailed after that. Levi and Bryce Fitzke both had two hits in the game, with Tristan Baltzer, Boyd Clausen, Ashton Hoff and Hudson Meyer also getting hits. Clausen and B. Fitzke did a great job on the mound, combining to limit North Bend to one hit in the game. The Broncos faced off against Wakefield in the second round and came out on the short end of a 4-0 loss. The game was close throughout, but the Digits couldn’t come up with the key hit to get on the scoreboard. Clausen and B. Fitzke again did the pitching. Wakefield went on to win the league tourney.
LV Digit Blue came into the tourney with a 3-8 record which earned them the #9 seed in the Blue Bracket. The boys had a good season, losing many games by one or two runs. The trend continued for the Digits, as they dropped a 5-4 decision to Battle Creek in the first round. The boys held the lead throughout the game, but allowed two runs in the final inning.
Congratulations to both teams on successful seasons.
